The questions people ask us

If the answer is not here, write to us at contact@unilovy.com. It is a real mailbox, read by a person.

Getting started

Where do I begin?

Create a site: you are asked for your first names and your date, and the editor opens already filled in. You need no account to start, and no card details. An account is what lets you find your draft again from another device.

How long does it take to build the site?

About fifteen minutes for something presentable, an hour or so to fill it in completely. Nothing is lost between two sittings: everything is saved as you type.

I do not have a date yet. Can I still start?

Yes. The date can stay empty or approximate; the countdown disappears until it is settled, and the publication window is recalculated the day you fill it in.

Can I change template after filling everything in?

Yes, as long as you have not paid yet. All thirteen sections exist in every template, so nothing is lost: only the layout changes. Once the site is published, the template is locked in, so you never rebuild a site you already settled on.

Your guests and their replies

How do my guests reach the site?

Through a link, which you share however you like: a message, an invitation, a printed QR code. There is no account to create and no app to install, and the site works even if their browser blocks JavaScript.

Can a guest correct their reply?

Yes, if they left an email address: they receive a confirmation containing an edit link, valid for a limited time and specific to their own reply. They never see the list of other guests.

What happens after the reply deadline?

The form closes, server-side, and says that replies are closed. A reply sent just before the deadline is accepted: we do not lose a guest over a second.

Are dietary requirements confidential?

They are health data and are treated as such. The question is off by default. Replies appear in no email, are hidden in your dashboard until you ask to see them, and are erased a month after the wedding.

Is there a captcha?

No, not by default. A captcha stops more grandmothers than robots. A quiet protection sits inside the form, and a stricter check is only switched on case by case, if a site is genuinely being targeted.

Address and domain

What is my site’s address?

An address of the form unilovy.com/your-names, with the name you choose. It is final once the invitations are printed, so take your time over it.

Can I use my own domain name?

Yes, from the plan that includes it, and provided you already own it at your registrar. We do not sell domains and register none for you: yours stays in your name, and you can disconnect it whenever you like.

Which address does the QR code point to?

Always your unilovy.com address, never your own domain, even if you have one. Printed paper has to outlive a domain that expires or changes hands.

Does my site appear in Google?

No, never by default. A wedding is private. The setting exists in the advanced options if you do want your guests to find you by name; while it stays off, your site stays out of the index.

After the wedding

How long does the site stay online?

12 months after the wedding date. You are warned before it expires, with time to retrieve your photos and your replies, and an extension is offered.

What becomes of my guests’ data?

It belongs to you, and you can export it at any time. Dietary requirements are deleted a month after the wedding, named replies after that, on a fixed schedule that runs by itself.

What if the wedding is called off?

You can unpublish the site immediately and ask for your data to be deleted. Write to us: that request is handled by hand, with no questions.

Anything else?

The pricing page answers questions about price and refunds, and the features page sets out what each section of the site does.
